It has been a busy month for us at English In The City KK and we are expecting an even busier month in September. If you are interested in taking part in our Negotiation Course please contact us on englishinthecity@nifty.com.

We are very pleased to say that we have had much success with our newly launched Medical English course last month!! Thank you for all of your support!

We also participated in the 12th Annual Academic Congress for the Japanese Society of Pressure Ulcers at Chiba Makuhari. So we have been busy! And busy is good : )

English In The City KK’s clients are mostly in the health care and medical industry where we provide Business English, Technical English and Medical English courses. Most of the content we deal with is quite serious however; we have some light-hearted news from Toto, who have developed a high-tech toilet that gives an instant health check-up of the person who makes use of it. Toto state that every time a user gets nature’s call, the toilet analyzes their urine, temperature, blood pressure and weight- all in a matter of a few seconds. The toilet displays a report and can store data for up to five people. Please check out Headline News’ website for more information. http://www.allheadlinenews.com

Finally, last month there was a report that linked diabetes and insulin resistance with Alzheimer’s risk. Scientists with Kyushu University in Fukuoka, said people with these conditions appear to be at an increased risk of developing plaques in the brain that are associated with Alzheimer’s. Lead researcher Dr. Kensuke Sasaki said in a statement that the results of the study are alarming because obesity is a risk factor in type-2 diabetes, and more people in the world are becoming obese. The full article can be found at All Headline News or in the journal of Neurology. Please check it out.

I am sure you will note that the language used in these online publications is simple and functional. Their objective is to have an easy to read and easy to access publication. It would be interesting to hear whether you think they have achieved their objective.

Enjoy the month! Happy studying.
